Like almost anything you'll do in life, learning music is at first a chore. You need to learn the basics of your instrument until they become second nature. That's when it becomes fun, when your body memory takes over and you don't have to think. Although you may never be perfect, you will be able to find the chords you want just by listening, and almost instinctually go to the proper areas of your instrument. Think of when you were learning to use the computer. At first it was frustrating, hitting all the wrong buttons, crashing your system, but now it's fun, right? This is the way most of your life will work....mind numbing frustration as you learn, and when you can do without thinking, then you will have fun. So, yes, music is fun.
