Well, i think they would be considered to be more like secondary consumers because their main diet does not consist of plants. They have a predatory nature and feed off of other insects like beetles, Spiders, grasshoppers, and some larger ones have been known to eat small birds. So yeah, i'd say secondary consumer, not primary.
