I like listening to hard rock too. It depends on the lyrics - what is the song about and would Jesus listen to it. If you want to feel more safe about this then you could listen to "Super Chick". It is hard music, but they are christian singers. As a Christian I feel that listening to rap music is a sin.First of all The Bible says that in whatever we do we should glorify God.Rap music with all of its violence and profanity does not glorify God.Secondly, as a Christian you should know that while an angel, Satan was the minister of music.Music was his talent.Why would he not use that to his advantage?Think about that the next time you are pop lock n droppin. Also for every sinful pasttime there is a Christian alternative.For an example, there are several great Christian rappers such as LeCrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Flame, etc. These are my favorite artists because their music sounds just like the music of Ludacris or Lil Wayne but instead of violence and material things, they rap the Gospel of Christ Jesus. I can't think of any place in the Bible where it says listening to music is a sin. If you think about it, rap music is like poetry because it usually has rythm and rhyme. The largest book in the Bible, Psalm, is made up of poetry. In addition, there is some Christian rap music. I can think of one Christian rapper off the top of my head. His name is KJ-52. There's more, but he's the only one I can think of rihgt now.
No, Rap isn't sin. All music was made to praise God. The world most of the rap bad. There are Christian rappers, such as LeCrae, Flame, TobyMac, Da T.R.U.T.H. and theres many more.

∙ 12y agoWell, coming from me, I feel that listening to Rock Music is absolutely not a sin. Think about it; why would someone deem it a sin? Although if you do feel that it is a sin, then by all means, feel free to stay away from it; If you aren't sure, think about it, and follow your own beliefs. It is a struggle for the human race to follow their hearts and their own thoughts, I've seen.

Unless the lyrics make you, the individual listener, want to break a commandment or any subcategories therein, there is no sin on your part. Simply put, music is not something that should influence your relationship with your god.

Well, I myself am confused. Lol. But I mean, it depends what type of rock you listen to, and who signs it. Listen to the lyrics and what it says. Also, be careful with what bands you listen from. They can be demonic people, and you never know what they can do for fame. So be careful, because people will try to make stuff seem “friendly” but its demonic. Just be careful, and do research. And if you don’t feel good about the music don’t hear it. :)

Some rap music can demean. However, not all rap songs do. It depends on the morality of the artist.
You're listening to rap if the singer is known to rap or he/she is singing or talking quickly.
In general rap music does not affect God. It is the lyrics that people do not like and believes that it offends God. Rap music doesn't affect God. Nothing affects Him...He affects things.

To be honest its stereotypes. Ever genre of music has it way of expressing so with rap it might be the so called 'bad language'and metal screaming or louder chords etc. But whoever said metal counts as a bad type of music hasn't found respect for music yet.
Yes, in fact it is. All music is Christian; it just matters on who and how you sing it. All music genres have a bad history, (especially rap/urban music) and some people just won't accept it as Holy music. But God has created all music for Him, but man has changed it and used it in their own evil ways.
