Is the piano a good instrument?

I have a new DG401 P. It was professionally delivered and set-up. I watched the assembly and was impressed with the quality of the manufacture. All went beyond good workman ship. I love the action of the keys and the fine quality of the sound system. There is nothing about this instrument that I do not like. I play it several hours every day. GWR

Yes, Yamaha Pianos are quality instruments. They make many different models of both grand and upright pianos. The more you spend, the more quality you get (much like anything else). They have a nice action, not too heavy or too light, and they have a bright sound, which is perfect for cutting through in concert halls and in other musical settings. Also, they still use all wooden parts as opposed to Kawai which uses many plastic parts.

If you are looking to purchase a used yamaha, i recommend having a piano technician inspect the piano just to make sure that everything is ok. This goes for any brand name piano. This is similar to buying a used car but first bringing it to a mechanic. Generally speaking it's just a good idea.

Suzuki violins are good beginner violins. They are about 4 to 6 hundred dollars.
I had a suzuki violin and it had more of a brass sound to it but a beginner really wont be able to tell a difference. So all in all they are good for beginners.
