Is there overdrive on the Jeep Cherokee automatic transmission?

There was several transmissions offered. It depends on what motor and trans you have. the 2.8 v6 and 2.5 i 4 came with a 3 speed torqueflight. in the mid 90s the switched to a 30rh 3 speed for the i4 (2.5) None of these had overdrive. there was an option for an AW4 transmission made by aisin, that had an overdrive. This was available about 86 or 87 till the discontinuation of the Cherokee in 2001.

When/if you tow a trailer, turn overdrive OFF.
