Mike Porcaro is ill. We don't know exactly why. But the family wants privacy, so, better respect him and listen the music. Mike is one of the people who make this world better!!!!!!
The song is called 'Africa' and was written by David Paich and Jeff Porcaro, of the rock band Toto.
Members of TOTO Steve Lukather - guitar and bass Jeff Porcaro - drums Steve Porcaro - Keys David Paich - Keys Lukather was the one who made the call to friend Eddie Van Halen who did the guitar work on Beat It.
I believe the group was called ToTo and I believe the song was a hit It was definitely Toto. The song was about the actress Rosanna Arquette.
Toto Ltd. was created on 1917-05-15.
Poco did not record "Africa". The band Toto recorded that on their "Toto IV" album.
Mike Porcaro is alive but fighting ALS (Lou Gherigs Disease). TOTO recently announced that the band was reforming for a summer 2010 European tour in an attempt to raise funds for Mike's medical treatment.

the logo on the Bass Drum for Rock Band: TOTO, may vary depending on which TOTO drummer you are asking about: JEFF PORCARO, SIMON PHILLIPS, or GREGG BISSONETT. For the most part PORCARO played PEARL(in studio), and a combination of LUDWIG/Gretcsch/Slingerland on Live stage performances displaying the PEARL or LUDWIG brand logo. I recall maybe the TOTO-TURN BACK album cover, or TOTO IV cover displayed on his bass drum. SIMON PHILLIPS play exclusively for TAMA, most of his Live performances show the TAMA logo in his Bass Drum; however, for the 'TOTO-Falling in Between(2006-07 Tour) he displayed strange symbols, almost like constellations, on his Bass Drum. Then there was GREGG BISSONNETTE, who filled in temporarily for PHILLIPS during the 2005-06 "TOTO-Tambu TOUR," and who plays MAPEX drums.....hopes this helps.
Jeff Porcaro, the founding member and drummer of the band Toto, is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. His gravesite is located in a section of the cemetery called the Freedom Mausoleum.
Sadly Jeff Porcaro died in 1992 after spraying insecticide in his yard caused heart failure. There was rumors it was cocaine related but that was never proven. Also sadly his brother Mike has AlS, which is always fatal, although he is still alive, life expectancy is almost never beyond 5 to 7 years after diagnosis. Mike was bass player for Toto for over 20 years. I believe his diagnosis was in 2006 or 07.Bobby Kimball is out doing a solo career. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the hit song 'hold the line" and Toto will be touring this summer to celebrate. Bobby figured since he was the original singer of that song that he would do his own solo 35th anniversary tour and is saying his new band is like or better than Toto. The hole thing has everyone's feathers ruffled, like I don't blame them. The band has had so much success in Europe that they are starting the 35th Anniv. tour there and the US has no dates as of yet :(. Here's hoping they make a tour in the US :)
The cast of Tombaugh and the Telescope - 2007 includes: Mike Toto as Uncle Lee
Toto lives! -The character Toto does not die in the story.
