Niether man says much about the other these days. It's believed that they were friends until the mid 70's, around the time their manager Gordon Mills was negotiating new deals for them to leave London Records and join Epic. Somewhere in this time frame it's believed that Engelbert had a falling out with Mills over his perception that Jones was treated better, promoted better, than him. This lead to the end of their business relationship but also ended the friendship with Jones, who remained close to Mills until his death in 1986.

Most likely. They were often on the same shows.
I'm not aware that he did. There is footage on YouTube of the two singing together when Jones was a guest on Engelbert's short lived Variety show in 1970.

Tom is apart of the "old money." Gatsby is a mysterious millionaire from North Dakota with shady business connections. It's not officially stated who is richer, but that descibes their backgrounds-which is what the book is more interested in rather than who in particular is richer than who.
Tom Richer died on December 16, 2008, in Los Angeles, California, USA of congestive heart failure.
