for example, tinikling. Before, it is our national dance but now its not. Before, the Japanese punish us in our mistakes by hitting our feet with bamboo. To relieve this pain, they made a step for the Japanese not to hit their feet. They studied how the Japanese will hit their feet and made this steps. As soon as the war ended, they are jollied to this steps and made it already a dance.
another is Carinosa. carinosa is our national folk dance. It is because that filipinas are very gentle. in this dance, it shows how gentle fiipinas are. and also shows how patient gentlemen in our country to get the hand of their loved girl.
one is itik-itik. this dance was popular to mindanao. their was a girl there were in she follows the ducks how to move and to mate. she showed her steps to a contest. she won it. Then she didn't even notice that people are slowly following it. so, it became one of our folk dance.
maglalatik is also our flok dance. It is originated in visayas were in niyog or buko is popular. their was a farmer who made a beat of latik by hitting the 2 baos on the same time. they enjoyed it and made a step their while hitting it. that is maglalaltik is born.
