The message in Oliver Twist is to challenge the Victorian society ideas about poor people. They believed that poor people are criminals at birth , Charles Dickens argues that bad environment is the main source of vices.

Dickens uses his own experiences for the first time in Oliver Twist, and begins by depicting how social institutions and bureaucracies oppress the poor, particularly children. But the prevailing message is how Good prevails undefiled by Evil.
