The Ronettes were racially mixed. Estelle reverted to her Negro side when she got older and in fact, was buried as a colored girl. Veronica is still White, Nedra is sort of a Bronzed or High-yellow skin tone, as judged by their appearance in the Hall of Fame concert on videos- on the net by the way.
Both of his parents are black (African-American). Prince is African-American. Here's a recent photo of his mother: http://img.Photobucket.com/albums/v107/klick2u/mother.jpg She's clearly a Black woman. Edit: Not clearly a black woman, clearly a MIXED woman. Prince is mixed. His ethnicity is something he keeps private but he isn't black. He is mixed.
The guy that played the guitar in his band. That is who he was singing about in his song "House is not a home". If you follow the verse "and your guitar sound so sweet and clear, but your not really here" he is talking about his partner. The partner was the light skinned male in his band and they were going through rough times.

The Canaanites could not have been black. Here is the proof: Avraham dwelt among the Canaanites, but he became worried about the Cushites seeing his wife when he went to Africa (Gen. 10). Why was he worried? Rashi (a traditional Medieval Jewish commentator) explains that the Cushites (who were unequivocally black), had never seen a fair skinned woman. This proves the Canaanites, whom he dwelled among before, could not have been black.

There is light both above (ultraviolet) and below (infrared) the visible spectrum that may or may not be absorbed by a solution or object that appears to be black to a person with normal color perception.
