4-way sample layering and velocity switching allows you to assign 4 different samples to a pad, then switch the samples by hitting the pad at different velocity's. For instance, say you have a Kick-drum on Layer 1, a Hi-Hat on Layer 2, a Snare-drum on Layer 3, and another Hi-Hat on Layer 4. You can hit the pad lightly to trigger the Kick-drum, then hit it harder to trigger the Hi-Hat, even harder and it triggers the Snare-drum, then at full velocity it triggers the last Hi-Hat on layer 4. This, in essence, lets you to play a drum beat by hitting a single pad at different velocity's to switch the samples.
You can set this up while in PROGRAM mode. The MPC500 user manual explains this in technical terms.
Unfortunately, the MPC500 (Running the only stable OS1.31) velocity threshold's programming is low, and you really have to smack the pads to achieve the layer switch. Therefore, it's not a feature that I recommend specifically buying the MPC500 to use, but is still fun to toy around with.

There is a short sample of a Stevie wonder song in Karma.
In the Shinoda test for flavonoids, a sample is added to pieces of magnesium and then hydrochloric acid is dripped on the sample. The color the sample turns indicates if there are flavonoids present or not.
The velocity of light in a liquid sample is always less than the light in air The velocity of light in a liquid sample is always less than the light in air
random sample is a big sample and convenience sample is small sample
a sample is a sample sized piece given... a sample size is the amount given in one sample
A Sample
A biased sample is a sample that is not random. A biased sample will skew the research because the sample does not represent the population.
A subset of sample space is taking a sample from that sample space.
sample application is sample
Statistically speaking, the mean is the most stable from sample to sample. Whereas, the mode is the least stable statistically speaking from sample to sample.

An experimental sample is an experiment that is just a sample of what you are looking for.
