I've had this amp for around 15 years now. Mine is an American made model. I had to take it to an amp tech a couple of years ago to change a couple of caps and re-bias. I recently replaced the speaker with a celestion vintage 30 and replace the power tube with el-84 (groove tube substi-tubes). I think it sounds better than ever now. I believe you can achieve a good blues sound (SRV style) by using the clean channel and with an Ibanez tube screamer in front, with its gain 3/4 of the way up, (I also use a cry-baby wah as needed). I set the amp as follows. Vol 4-5, treble 7, bass 12, mid 12, reverb 2.5, and presence 5. with my Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster on the front pickup although any pickup combo sounds good.

What is the best guitar for blues?

It depends what kind of blues you want to play. Acoustic blues should use an acoustic guitar, I also like to use a slide (when you stick a glass or metal tube over one over your fingers and slide it up and down the guitar neck. ex. "Mean Old World" by Eric Clapton and Duane Allman.) Harder electric blues should just electric guitars or semi-hollow body guitars, as they give a lighter sound so you can play acoustic sounding pieces as well as hard-hitting electric songs.AnswerThere is no "Best" or "Perfect" amplifier for playing electric Blues Guitar. Size, weight, power, punch, ruggedness, volume, & looks are just a few of the factors that determine the popularity of Blues Amps with the Best Blues Guitar Players. One that delivers a very high quality TONE with just enough power to fill a medium sized Nightclub full of people and not get drowned out by the drummer is very desirable.Such an amp is widely recognized to be the 1965 FENDER DELUXE REVERB AMP.The original amplifier was an all tube driven class A push/pull amp with 22 watts RMS and one 12 inch Oxford 12K5-6 speaker. Running on Leo Fender's Iconic AB763 circuit and driven by two 6V6 power tubes the Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp has long been considered by many Blues Guitarists to be the "HOLY GRAIL" of Blues Guitar Amps. The early model "Blackface"(1963 to 1967) Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp has about as much Pure Blues TUBE TONE as you can get from any small combo amp.Twice as powerfull, equally as cool and BAD TO THE BONE for Blues Guitar TUBE TONE would be the coveted Fender "59 Bassman amp". With 50 watts, 4 ten inch Jensen speakers and Volume controls that go up to Twelve!, this is the Grandaddy Tone King of larger sized Blues tube amps. This is the amp that Jim Marshall disassembled, copied circut for circut and made the first Marshall JMP-45 amp from. An early Marshall JMP-45 was the amp that Eric Clapton used to record the "Beano" album with....his seminal Bluesbreakers record with John Mayall in April of 1966. The amp has been reissued by Marshall and is now known as the "Bluesbreaker" amp because of the popularity of Clapton's Guitar work on the "Beano" album.Rev. Muddy

Did billy gibbons teach Stevie ray vaughn?

Billy Gibbons did not formally teach Stevie Ray Vaughan, but they had a mutual admiration and influence on each other's music. Gibbons, the guitarist for ZZ Top, is known for his blues-rock style, which resonated with Vaughan, who was a prominent Texas blues guitarist. While they may have shared tips and techniques in informal settings, Vaughan's development as a musician was largely self-taught and influenced by various blues legends.

How good is a fender guitar?

There are many different types of fender guitars. One is the Fender Stratocaster. The fender Strat. is what some people call the universal guitar. People call the Strat this because if you look at any type of music (jazz, rock, blues, funk, country) you will find at least one artest that plays a fender strat. I own an American Fender Stratocaster Deluxe and I love it. If you are a rock fan, then go with the Telecaster which was made to play rock music. Fender also makes acoustic guitars but they are not the best quality I think. If you are looking for an acoustic guitar then look at Ibanez. They make a good acoustic guitar. I hope that this helps. If you have any other questions about guitars, I would suggest looking in the fourms of this website. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ This is the best website for all your guitar needs.

What is better a fender stratocaster or Gibson SG or Gibson es - 355?

It all depends on YOU. Fender and Gibson are two completely different types of guitars for sound. If you are more into blues, jazz music then go for Fender stratocaster or telecaster and if you like rock, metal types defenently go for a Gibson sg or les paul. you will get people giving there opinion but its all down to you if your looking to buy either one go and test them down your local guitar shop. i have a fender jaguar because i like blues more then rock but Gibson are defenently one off the best for rock.
