Steve Winwood first played with the Spencer Davis Group. He joined them at 15 while his brother Muff Winwood (later a well known producer in England) was a member of the band. He had a couple of hits with them - Gimme Some Lovin' and (oddly enough!) I'm a Man! He then left and formed Traffic.
