This is a little complicated.
The song "Love Letters" was in, and written for, the 1945 film Love Letters. However, in the movie, it was an instrumental. The lyrics were written later, and the song was covered by a lot of popular artists, including Elvis Presley.
Unless you're a big Elvis fan, the first song that comes to mind when you hear the title "Love Letters" is probably the much more widely known "Love Letters in the Sand", which is a Pat Boone song that spent five weeks in 1957 at #1 on the Billboard charts (the Presley song charted in 1966 but only made it to #19, though in 1962 a vesion by Ketty Lester had reached as high as #5). The Boone song was in a film, too: Bernadine.
