Georges Bizet was not Jewish. His father-in-law was Jacques Fromental Halévy (1799 -- 1862), born in Paris to a distinguished Jewish family. Halévy was the composer of La Juive (the Jewess) which was produced at the Paris Opéra; he was not a librettist.
The parents of Georges Bizet were named Adolphe and Aimee. Aimee's parents disapproved of her marriage to Adolphe, and Georges was their only child.
The libretto [lyrics] for Carmen were by Meilhac and Halevy.
