What is the driving distance between Woodstock and Glenville
Woodstock, New York
Woodstock took place August 15-18 in the town of Bethel, NY, outside the hamlet of White Lake. Bethel is in Sullivan County, which adjoins Ulster County where the town of Woodstock lies. Bethel is 43 miles southwest of the town of Woodstock, where the 3 day concert had originally been planned. Woodstock was not in Woodstock.
Since the legendary concert at Woodstock, NY in 1969, bands have been playing that same venue every ten years or so. The bands playing at Woodstock in 2009 were Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, Edgar Winter, Melanie, and several others.
The event was originally scheduled to take place in the town of Woodstock, New York. The venue fell through and at the last minute a new place had to be found. The farm used was Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel NY. With posters already printed and all of the word of mouth, the name of the event was not changed.
