Planet Waves 1974 - is was poor album compared the the classic, Blood on the Tracks, Desire and Street Legal. Forever Young being the one outstanding track, but this version was eclipsed by the 1979 live release of "Live at Budokan". Planet waves was originally released on the Island label after Dylan briefly left CBS. His parting gift the album "Dylan" being comprised of songs he hated, mostly and unusually not penned by him. Budokan was a "reluctant release" he had, according to folk lore, wanted a live album released only in Japan, but even in those pre inter net days the global retail market was opening up so this album was being sold elsewhere, many copies being boot-legged, so (as with the much boot legged Basement Tapes), CBS got in on the act and released it world wide.
Johnny Cash may have recorded, and performed the Bob Dylan tune, "Forever Young." However, the only country singer to have a single record of the song, was the Queen of Country Music, Kitty Wells, in 1974.
The album is also titled Wanted Man.
