The original name of The Police was The Police, they recorded their first single in 1977.

However, they also toured under the name Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, and the Elevators. They also recorded under the name Strontium 90, in fact the first version of Everything she does is Magic was recorded by Strontium 90 and was released a couple of years ago on an Cd called Strontium 90, A Police Academy.
