"I Will Always Love You" can be played on Alto Saxophone in the key of E major. The main melody starts with the notes: G# - G# - F# - E - C# - B - A. For a complete arrangement, you may need to refer to sheet music specifically arranged for alto sax to capture the nuances and phrasing.
I used to play an alto saxophone in high school for our pep band. Learning how to play the saxophone taught me patience, perserverance and a love of making my own music. It probably also taught my parents tolerance and patience too as they had to listen to my squaks and bleeps until I got good enough to make actual notes with it :)
The song changes key a few times. It starts with a Jewish hitzas scale in Am using the notes A C# E, it goes up a fourth and repeats the same riff starting with D. The solos are had to replicate because they are incorrectly fingered, out of tune and overblown, but that style makes it. I have to play clean cut solos over madness, because I'm a smooth jazz musician. Love madness. www.shawsax.co.UK Chris Shaw, international artiste.

play by ear.
It depends on who you ask. I think that the fingerings are easy, but the controling your air and using dynamics makes it a little trickier. Try it anyway. I love it, and it is the only instrument that I stuck with.
