Music Videos are actually filmed, therefore what you would need is a degree in film. This is not always the case, but in general you are better off with a degree. There is no actual separation between a music video director or any other one. Either way, it takes years of experience after school to achieve a director's status. Just keep in mind that the 'entertainment' industry encompasses many opportunies in both film and television

They do the same as a conductor, but they will often actually play an instrument in the ensemble.

He / she often prepares the parts that the ensemble plays, e.g. transcribing arrangements and producing scores.

The musical director tells the actors how to perform the songs. They'll lead the players as they learn the songs, giving pointers, conducting, convening with the accompanists, explaining what the mood is, what effect needs to be achieved. They'll also have to organize the orchestra.
