Most big name instrument companies make trombones. Yamaha, Bach, Conn, Holton, etc all make very good student model horns. Edwards and Shire are more expensive, but in my opinion they have superior craftsmanship. They also make custom trombones.
There is no real brand specification per say; I highly recommend either a Yamaha or a Conn. Both are very high quality instruments and have done me lots of good.
