Non-pitched percussion instruments are used for a few reasons, providing a beat and a cool backbone to the song. Pitched percussion instruments are usually used for harmony or the melody of a song, they don't have that backbeat that a snare or a bass has, and a snare and a bass don't have the melody to the song, such as a Marimba would.

No, a tambourine is not a pitched instrument, as you get a mix of different frequencies from it, meaning you cannot distinguish one particular note, as you do with a tuba, for example, as different notes have slightly, yet distinguishably different frequencies.
pitched instruments are instruments with do re mi fa so la ti do like xylophone and piano
if it is a brass instrument where you have to buzz your lips then yes, you cant let your lips go weak but you can practice every other day. but for others like flutes and violins i am not sure because i play the trumpet.
A chord consists of multiple notes played at one time. Woodwind and brass can only play one note at a time.

Most music colleges have more than one type of music. If you play a musical instrument such as clarinet, flute, or even tuba or percussion they should have a program and you should have a chance. There is also the chance you could be a conductor. Some of my pas conductors could not sing for the life of them but they made music by leading an orchestra.
I heard that younger people can hear reallly high pitched noises but when you get older you cant anymore. deaf people cant hear anything
