From 350 dollars for just a radio to $500 for am/fm cd player and up
The vast majority of radios in the 1930s were very large console radios. They had heavy wooden cabinets and looked like furniture. But they did also have portable battery operated radios too. They used a 1.5V dry cell to power the tube filaments and a 45V to 150V dry battery to power the tube plates. These batteries alone might weigh 1 to 2 pounds, so although the radios were portable they were not light weight. Also as these radios used fewer tubes than the console radios did, they usually had lower sensitivity, selectivity, and "extra features" so could not pick up as many stations or receive as many bands or produce as good sound or support "magic eye" tuning, etc.
There are many types of emergency radios available. Some of the types of radio available include Ham radio, AM radios, FM radios, CB radios and walkie talkies.

According to the Bose website, the Bose radios do not require a specific type of speaker to work. However, using a Bose waveguide speaker may produce more lifelike sound because of the 26-inch folded waveguide technology.
Both Ebay and Amazon sell these fabulous radios and sound systems. You can also find other radios that you might want to compare and compare them side by side.
it really depends on what kind that you are using, but the Bose does have some good ear-buds because of the improved sound and it is pretty comfortable, although Bose ear-buds may not fit everybody, and it may have a bit too much treble, but other than that, it still is pretty good.
No. If you have an AUX button then an aftermarket sat radio can be installed if not...then it isn't possible. If you have a BOSE radio then you will have to have GMC 'flash' your radio.
Depending on the brand they can be very durable. I know Bose is very durable.
There are several different companies that sell these. The one i recommend is Bose.
You can!!! If you live in the Toronto area visit Bay Bloor Radio and on the second floor is a large display of various Bose equipment including their radios.
Whether or not the Bose radios are better than others depends on what you are looking for. The Bose systems are great if you are looking for a compact radio that is pretty easy to use. If you are looking for a radio where your able to have finer control over things like bass and treble, this is not the radio for you. Overall it seems that most people who own them tend to love them. They are high quality and do have great sound. They are moderately expensive though.
