The duo of Johnny Almond and Jon Mark performed as Mark-Almond and was active from the late 60s and early 70s. Their song, "The Ghetto" can be found on their greatest hits album released in 1990.
The lyrics are:
Here I am, standing all alone.
Seems like I'm a thousand miles from home.
You know that never did I have a friend.
You know I never had a dollar that I could lend.
And sometimes I get down on my knees
And I wonder if He sees.
New York City is where I'm from.
Down there in the ghetto, where you don't come.
Seems like my life has passed me by.
And you tell me, tears of joy,
But I tell you, I cry!
And sometimes I get down on my knees
And I wonder if He sees.
Don't give me liquor for my pain.
All my friends they never came back again.
Nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide.
Just me in the ghetto with you
looking in from outside.
And sometimes I get down on my knees
And I wonder if He sees.
It is probably "The Time of My Life", which has the lyrics 'got down on his knees'.

Stretch reflex that helps keep your knees from buckling
This would really depend on your personal opinion and life. However, the most touching lyrics to me are either in I'm So Sick (EP Version) or Break Your Knees or I'm Sorry...I think most of their lyrics are touching.

No higher than shoulders and sometimes that's a bit high. No lower than knees. If I was a pitcher, for practicing I'd give myself a strike zone of chest to knees.
"On My Knees" sung with Charlie Rich.
