Gautama run away from home because he fear of life pain of different unfortunate human with suffering of their Karma and even at the end did not succeed to find final truth of life which is We are potential becoming GOD like.

He added that there is violence in eating meet but didn't clear that by controlling food at final stage will definitely make you God like. This step was fulfill by different sumkalin philosophy call Jainism.
