In the beginning of the song the chorus "I'm a space-bound rocket ship and your hearts the moon, and I'm aiming right at you" stands for that he loves her so much she is altered in his view, higher. That she is where he wants to be. Then in the end it stands for He's talking about being in love with a girl and opening his heart to her when he has shut everyone out. He doesn't want to get hurt and he gives his all even though they fight. After giving his all she decides that she doesn't want him anymore and tries to leave. He begs her not to go and then a rush of anger comes over him. A rage. He chokes her basically because he wants to hurt her as she is hurting him now, just in a different way. He lets her go and leave but before she goes he tells her that he would have done anything for her and every time she looks up in the sky and sees a star to think of him cause that's where he's headed now without her, Space. Oblivion, he's lost without her and would rather not live without her. Then he shoots himself. How much love can change so quickly and drastically.

Who is "her"?
