Where does Holden Caulfield live in The Catcher in the Rye?

New York City I had the same question but I just looked around the Internet also: if Phoebe went to school in New York, then they must live close because they are brother and sister

Why is holden so lonely at Pencey?

i think Holden creates a (figuratively speaking) wall around him and traps himself in there purposely. Hes a jerk to people but he thinks hes not being a jerk to them and then he calls them morons or a flit. By doing so i guess people get annoyed of him and just ignore him. and then he wonders why, sort of. Its a challenging question.

Where is Holden Caulfield as he narrates the story?

Holden is in a hospital because he has tuberculosis, as it was stated in the first chapter. *Not correct. Holden just says he "practically" had t.b. He never is said to actually have t.b. The true nature of his illness was never disclosed and can only be inferred.

What is signification of holden wondering about the ducks?

Throughout the novel, Holden has a need to protect the innocent. Often he fulfills this need by protecting children, and the ducks are just an extension of this behavior. Because Holden views the ducks as innocent beings who are in danger from the winter, he has a need to know that they are somehow safe.
