I don't have the answer. I've been listening to that album lately. A lot.
As far as I've noticed, the phrase is not used in the lyrics on this album.
I wonder if Bernie Taupin made it up. His lyrics are all sorts of cryptic. I've only noticed in adulthood that (a) Kiss lyrics are really, really filthy and (b) So many of Elton's songs, even a lot of the famous ones, are absolutely either incomprehensible or too deep and symbolic for me. Tumbleweed Connection could be the same thing. If Bernie made it up, it means something like, "like, you're out in the prairie out West, and there are tumbleweeds, and the tumbleweeds represent the [fill in psychobabble] and your inner [psychobabble] is connecting to or moving along with/like the tumbleweeds."
In addition, Bernie Taupin rarely intends to have meaning in his lyrics as he gives them to Elton John to write music to. Both disliked it when critics would often try to speculate for definition in Bernie's intentionally meaningless lyrics. "Tumbleweed Connection" has no specific meaning and was never intended to have one.
"Love Song" was written by Leslie Duncan. It was covered by Elton John and released on his album "Tumbleweed Connection" in the U.K. on 30 October 1970. Leslie Duncan was guest vocalist on the track. "Love Song" appeared first on Leslie's album "Sing Children Sing".
Bass player Dee Muuray first appeared with Elton John on the Tumbleweed Connection album in 1970. He was a touring band member from 1970 to 1975. He returned to Elton John's band in 1981 and stayed with the band until 1985. Murray died from a stroke in January 1992 at the age of 45.
The value of Elton John's 1970 album "Tumbleweed Connection" can vary significantly based on factors such as condition, edition, and whether it's a vinyl or CD format. Typically, original vinyl pressings in good condition can range from $10 to $50, while sealed copies or special editions may be worth more. Collectors' prices can fluctuate, so it's advisable to check recent sales on platforms like eBay or music collector websites for the most accurate valuation.
