It doesn't "stand for" anything. The use of the word "tip" in the sense of "something given to another person" (often a small sum of money, but also sometimes information) has been around since at least the early 17th century.

The fact that you're asking what it "stands for" suggests that someone has tried to tell you that it's an acronym for something like "To Insure Promptness", but this is almost certainly not true. Forming words from acronyms was nearly unheard of before the 19th century and only became really common in the 20th, and as mentioned "tip" meaning "gratuity" has been around for considerably longer than that.
