In my point of view, Iron is part of a triology of a great storyteller that is woodkid, yoann.
Putting the videos in the order of "run boy run", "i love you" and "iron" at last, yoan is trying to represent our inner child.
It begins with a boy running from society and recruiting figures from his imagination to fight it (as the lyrics explain) and at the end he looses.
The second song, "i love you", is as expected, a love story wich someone does not understand the personality of the author, or maybe the family bond with a mother or father misunderstood. That causes the lack of conection between both, the author and the person that was his "backbone".
"Iron", the last one, is the reconnection with his innerself, the battle that stands between him and the person that society want's him to be. It connects with the other videos, as the potraited child runs, dies and his burial tomb on the last video. He sums up all his soldiers to regain control of his life, all by himself, and be as free as he was as a child.
Ate least, that is my point of view.
