Some things that happened during Elvis Presley's childhood was that his twin brother was born stillborn, his family was very poor, and his father built their small house by himself. Elvis entered a talent show in 5th grade and won 1st place. His father was put in jail in 1938 which forced his mom and him to move in with relatives.
i would say that the major events in Elvis Presley,s life were : being discovered/achieving fame , the death of his mother, his courtship & marriage to Priscilla , the birth of Lisa Marie, & his divorce from Priscilla.
There are so many but I'll list a few (to save time/space I will just list the year).
1953 - Elvis makes his first "musical recording" by walking into Sun Records and paying the four dollar fee.
1954 - As Elvis became a "professional" being signed by Sam Phillips of Sun Records (aka: Memphis Recording Service).
1956 - Becoming the most successful singer, entertainer, performer in the World (i.e. on stage, on TV, on the radio, and films Love Me Tender, etc.).
1957 - Elvis was drafted into the US Army and served from 1958-1960.
1958 - Elvis' beloved Mother dies.
1960 - Elvis makes his first "comeback" after being honorably discharged from the US Army.
1967 - Elvis gets married to Priscilla. Elvis wins the first of three GRAMMY Awards (note: all were in the category of Gospel songs/albums).
1968 - Elvis makes his second "comeback". Elvis is blessed with a daughter who they named Lisa Marie.
1969 - Elvis signs the most lucrative contract in Las Vegas history for live performances and begins touring throughout the United States always selling out.
1972 - His marriage deteriorates.
1973 - His divorce is finalized and his health deteriorates (publicly and privately). He performs in the first live TV appearance via Satellite, which was estimated to have been seen by over a billion people worldwide, known as "Aloha From Hawaii".
He was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo Mississippi.
He had a twin brother, who was born first, who (sadly) died at birth known as "stillborn".
He was born, and raised, being "dirt poor" which means that his family lived "day to day" and had very little personal possessions, land, and/or wealth.
Elvis had serious medical conditions such as; sleep walking, chronic insomnia, sleep apnea, Asthma, etc.
Elvis' mother carried a child, after Elvis was born, but she (sadly) lost it in a miscarriage. The knowledge that he was the only surviving child of his beloved mother stayed with him throughout his life.
Elvis was very shy to those outside of his immediate family and friends.
You mean before he became famous? He didnt do anything special. Him and his family we're very very poor, he was born in a shotgun shack. After high schoole he was a delivery truck driver and studying to become an electrician.
