Some things that happened during Elvis Presley's childhood was that his twin brother was born stillborn, his family was very poor, and his father built their small house by himself. Elvis entered a talent show in 5th grade and won 1st place. His father was put in jail in 1938 which forced his mom and him to move in with relatives.

1953 - Elvis makes his first "musical recording" by walking into Sun Records and paying the four dollar fee.

1954 - As Elvis became a "professional" being signed by Sam Phillips of Sun Records (aka: Memphis Recording Service).

1956 - Becoming the most successful singer, entertainer, performer in the World (i.e. on stage, on TV, on the radio, and films Love Me Tender, etc.).

1957 - Elvis was drafted into the US Army and served from 1958-1960.

1960 - Elvis makes his first "comeback" after being honorably discharged from the US Army.

1968 - Elvis makes his second "comeback". Elvis is blessed with a daughter who they named Lisa Marie.

1969 - Elvis signs the most lucrative contract in Las Vegas history for live performances and begins touring throughout the United States always selling out.

1972 - His marriage deteriorates.

1973 - His divorce is finalized and his health deteriorates (publicly and privately). He performs in the first live TV appearance via Satellite, which was estimated to have been seen by over a billion people worldwide, known as "Aloha From Hawaii".
