anything over 25 mph over the posted speed limit becomes felony reckless driving and is an arrestable offense. jail time and huge fines can follow.

It depends on where you live and where you were speeding. I got a ticket doing a 90 in a 65 on the freeway in California at 12:20 AM and the officer said I don't even have to go to court. However, the fine will be around $250 and in order to keep insurance from going up you have to take an 8 hour traffic school for $150. Good luck.

Sixty in a twenty five zone!?! And you young people wonder why we worry about you. Charges... well there's always reckless driving and as for the fine, I think you'd better be more worried about jail time. But money is what you asked about and my guess is around sevenhundred and fifty bucks. Plus loss of license of course.

Look on your ticket, there should be a phone number on the ticket to the court house. Call the court and ask.

I am not sure but the offense code doesn't matter for speeding, it is simply your speed and the speed limit. The break points are 0 to 10 over, 11 to 15 over and 15 to 25 over. A south Carolina attorney can usually get your ticket reduced for you.
