Randy Rhoads was the guitarist who played the solo.
Ozzy Osbourne started his solo career and his own band in 1980 with guitarist Randy Rhoads
Randy Rhoads is the best guitarist of all time. He died way before his time, but his music will live forever. He was technical, creative, abstract ( see diary of a madman), and wrote some of the catchiest music in rock history. My personal favorite, by far.

Randy Rhoads formed Quiet Riot in the mid -late 1970's, then He played for Ozzy Osbourne from 1980-1982. His career was cut short by a freak airplane accident while still in Ozzy's band.
Cody Rhoads is not directly related to Randy Rhoads, the famous guitarist known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot. Cody Rhoads is actually the son of Randy Rhoads' brother, thus making him Randy's nephew. While they share a family connection, they are not siblings.

In Black Sabath it was Tony Iommi In Ozzy Osbourne(the band): Early:Randy Rhoads Later: Zakk Wylde But Ozzy's most favorite and the one who he thinks is the best is Randy Rhoads. If you mean from fan perspective that is answered individual. I prefer Randy Rhoads.
Randy Rhoads, born December 6, 1956 and passed away on March 19, 1982) had never admitted to being gay and according to his close friend that he grew up with the friend stated that Randy always stole his girlfriends without even trying. Randy Rhoads music was before it time and he lived and breathed playing his music. They had also gone to the Playboy Mansion. He became quite popular with he joined with Ozzy Ozbourne (helping to bring back Ozbourne's career) and the two became very close friends. On Thursday March 19, 1982 Randy was in an plane and a few attempts were to 'buzz' the tour bus where the other members of the band were sleeping. On the third 'buzz' they clipped the bus by accident and the plane crashed into Calhoun's nearby mansion. Rhoads, age 25, was killed instantly, as were Aycock, 36, and Youngblood, 58. It was later revealed in an autopsy that Aycock's system showed traces of cocaine at the time; Rhoads' toxicology test revealed no illicit drugs. The NTSB investigation also determined that Aycock's medical certificate was expired and that the biennial flight review required for all pilots was overdue. Randy's funeral was held at the First Lutheran Church in Burbank, CA. He is interred at Mountain View Cemetery in San Bernardino, California where his grandparents are also buried. When Randy first met Ozzy Osbourne, Ozzy thought Randy looked very feminine. He asked him "are you gay?" and Randy responded "No, I'm church of England." to which Ozzy laughed and gave him the job as lead guitarist.
