King Curtis was the last of the great R & B tenor sax giants he was the sax player in all his bands.. although he would have featured guess sax players now and again ~ ☮ldhippierick ♪ ♫ ♪ @http://oldhippierick.blogspot.com/
The saxophone was developed by Adlophe Sax, a Belgian living in the 19th century. It was designed as a type of hybrid between the woodwind and the brass section, using a brass style body but the single reed mouthpiece was like that of the woodwind. He developed 14 types of saxophone ranging in pitch, from the soprano right down to the contrabass.
Charlie Parker was one of the best known ever. John Coltrane and Coleman Hawkins are also highly rated. BB King is a current jazz player still going strong.
When playing the Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, or Baritone Saxophone, your left hand keys should not tingle. If this is common on your Saxophone, then you might want to go to King Music or any other band instrument stores. Usually you'd need to get a new Saxophone, but if you're lucky there just might be a slight issue with any of your keys on your Saxophone. That is a very easy procedure and will take about one week. If you go to King Music, they will give you a replacement Saxophone that works fabulous. So I think you would probably need to get it checked by a Saxophone/ any other band instrument specialist. Good luck with solving your Saxophone problem! :)
Like most major players he had several instruments at any given time and changed from time to time. Early on, he's associated most with the Conn 6M, and later with the King Super 20. He also played a Grafton plastic sax on occasion, but it was never his main axe.
