M.C. Hammer, whose real name was Morton Charles Hammer, had a financial windfall from his hit "Hammertime." However, Morton was unable to sustain the success of his first album. He made a total of 12 Million dollars off of his first album, but then was never in the public eye again. It turns out, Morton was a homosexual and a crack addict. He spent nearly all of his money on his crack habit and his latin lover Juan Julio Estrada. Morton had to file for bankruptcy and lost everything that he had, except, of course, his funky dance moves and parachute pants. Morton went to rehab for 6 months beginning in June of 1995. On Christmas Eve 1995, Morton was released from rehab. He had finally kicked his habit and was back with Juan Julio. In May of 1996, Morton received horrible news when he found out that Juan Julio had tested positive for the HIV virus. Morton had himself tested and found out that he also had contracted the HIV virus. As far as anyone knows, Morton is living in East Los Angles with Juan Julio, trying desperately to discover a cure for AIDS.

Young MC, whose real name is Marvin Young, is known for his hit song "Bust a Move," while MC Hammer, born Stanley Burrell, is famous for tracks like "U Can't Touch This." Both are influential figures in hip-hop, but they have distinct styles and careers.
