She leaves Tristan, obviously hurt in the second to last chapter because Tristan doesn't realize that she was in love with him, as I'm sure you know if I am assuming correctly. Such a sad part... :*(
After that, you can only assume that she goes on, or atleast attempts to, even though she's heartbroken (you can only do so much when your hurt, ya know?). She probably eventually finishes her mission, whatever it is. Which makes me wonder, if she's gone two years and still hasn't finished her mission, could she have failed it? Meh, whatever. Anyway. You don't know what happens to her. All you know is that she is still just a normal angel "trying" to complete her mission.
I think the whole point behind Lacey Lovitt, beside the fact that she was Tristan's tutor and helped him in so many ways, her purpose was so that Tristan wouldn't necessarily be alone. She was to him like Will was to Ivy. Admiring and loving him and very close to him, but not confident enough to completely reveal her feelings to him. Will was the lucky one who got Ivy, but Lacey wasn't, and ended up hurt instead.
