Elvis' twin brother died at birth and this took a grave tool on his beloved mother Gladys and as Elvis learned about this as a child he felt guilty.

Elvis had many serious medical issues as a child. They include; sleep walking, Asthma, sleep apnea (he stops breathing), chronic insomnia, and susceptibility to recurrent infections in the ears, nose, and throat.

At a time Elvis and his parents lived in government subsidised housing as they were very poor.

Elvis was picked on as a child for having a funny name, wearing glasses, being poor, having his mother walk him to and from school, and later for his wild hairstyle and clothes.

Professionally Elvis had to overcome the negative comments made about him (i.e. he was contributing to juvenile delinquency, he was anti-Christian) and then in the 1960s he was bound into movie contracts while The Beatles/British Invasion/Beach Boys Sound/Motown ruled the music scene. Elvis made his dramatic comeback to regain the throne of being the # 1 entertainer in the World via the 1968 Singer Sewing Machine sponsored TV special entitled "Elvis" (aka: the Comeback Special, the 68 Special, etc.).

Lastly, Elvis was one of the first celebritys whose divorce, from Priscilla which was finalized on October 9, 1973, was made "public" on the front pages of publications.
