Gallipoli was the first D-Day. It was an anphibias invasion of turkey by British, australlian and New Zealand forces. Its goal was to take constantanople and end Turkish involvement in ww1.

But it was a desaster. The Intel was incorrect and most people ended up shooting each other by accident. It was the brain child of Churchal who would be sacked from government by this disaster. He would later come back and help Britain through ww2
