12 to 13 feet of metal tubing
If you uncoil all of a regular french horn's tubing, in total it would be 12 feet long!
There are two factors. One is that the length of the tubing required for the horn would, if straightened out, make a very long and unwieldy horn (you know that horn they use in the Ricola commercials?), so they curl it up instead. The other is just to give it a decorative shape.
The French Horn is made of brass tubing. Basicly, the Horn is a chunk of of brass tubing.
Simply put, it's the part on the very top where the mouthpiece goes into. Sometimes, it's a different color/finish than the rest of the horn and is usually a little bit thicker than the tubing directly after it.

The Bb Trumpet, NOT the French Horn, has 9 ft. French horns have 12-18 feet of tubing.

Similar to the modern version, but with less tubing and no valves.
as long as you can, but eventually your lips will become very numb.
About 12 feet for the single French Horn, although the double horn and some different models could have slight variations.
It adds more tubing so this means you can play more notes. For example, the french horn started out as the natural horn. Then someone added the first crook, which was tubing for the first valve. So now they can play more notes. And then the added more and more crooks which leads to the french horn that we have today.
It has very long and sharp horn on its head.
