"The Rambos" Amazing Grace shall always be my song of praise,For it was grace that bought my liberty,I do not know just why He came to love me so,He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary,To view the Cross where Jesus died for me,How marvelous His grace that caught my falling soul,When he looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

"Oh Danny Boy" is actually an Irish song that was originally sung by an Englishman to the tune of a famous Irish song called Londonderry Air. It was later adopted as an Irish favorite and a standard on St. Patrick's Day. For this reason, the lyrics are not in Scottish Gaelic, rather, they're in English.Oh Danny Boy(words by Frederick Weatherly)Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are callingFrom glen to glen, and down the mountain sideThe summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying'tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide. But come you back when summer's in the meadowOr when the valley's hushed and white with snow'tis I'll be there in sunshine or in shadowOh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.And if you come, when all the flowers are dyingAnd I am dead, as dead I well may beYou'll come and find the place where I am lyingAnd kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above meAnd all my dreams will warm and sweeter beIf you'll not fail to tell me that you love meI simply sleep in peace until you come to me.
'Danny Boy'.
Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling.....
Danny Boy was written by English songwriter Frederic Weatherly. Weatherly's sister-in-law, Margaret, an Irish immigrant helped with the music and set the tune to ancient Irish ballad, 'The Londonderry Aire.'
Whilst certainly not an official hymn, the tune Danny Boy, which is sung to the tune of Londonderry Air, is sometimes thought of being liturgical in composition. As early as the late 1920's the tune was found to be considered as an unofficial anthem, extolling the love of Ireland and the nucleus of the family. It is a song offered as a parent singing to a son. This was particularly considered during the great Irish diaspora (migration) to all points around the world for either war or migration. It's interesting to note that the song was written by an Englishman, Frederick Weatherly, in 1910. Even he considered his song a fitting tribute for a funeral.
The lyrics were written by an Englishman, but the tune itself is an arrangement of "Londonderry Air" which is a traditional Irish melody.
The lyrics were originally written for a different tune in 1910 by Frederick Weatherly, an English lawyer, and were modified to fit Londonderry Air in 1913 when Weatherly was sent a copy of the tune by his sister.
The composer of Londonderry Air is unknown. Any reference to "Oh Danny Boy" is for the lyrics only, not the tune. The tune is also known as Derry Air and Air from County Derry.
