He doesn't, he began to learn guitar when he was young but he said he got lazy and didn't learn. He has also said he has always wanted to play the piano but the waiting list was six months and then they started Tokio Hotel and didn't have enough time anymore. He just does the vocals.
when it was just bill and tom though, bill played the keyboard that had bass and drum notes on it. then georg and Gustav joined the band and he had no need for it. but keyboard and piano are very different. he was probably self taught.
*actually, Bill can play the piano, A friend taught him some, and he said that one time he played jingle bell for a Christmas party and everyone said he should be a pianist, but he said that wasn't for him. and he learned how to play violin, when he was younger, it wasn't what he wanted, but he did it anyways and he said it was hard.
