If a cat stung a scorpion, it would probably kill it. The venom in a scorpion is enough to kill the average house cat.WRONG.......Actually it will most likely NOT kill a cat. The average house scorpion does NOT have enough venom to kill a cat, only the bark scorpion does and you can tell if it is a bark scorpion if it can climb walls! Scorpions are not monsters but are dangerous, if your house pet starts to drool or have tremors or difficulty breathing they should see a vet but mostly they will live.
Read the book and you will find out
Oh, dude, the irony in Nissim Ezekiel's "Night of the Scorpion" is like when the villagers pray for the mother who got stung by a scorpion, hoping for her recovery, but then they're also kind of like, "Eh, she probably deserved it." It's like, they show compassion but also reveal their superstitions and judgments at the same time. It's like, "Hey, we care about you... but also, maybe it's your karma, who knows?"

Yes, there is irony in the House of the Scorpion. One form of irony is that Tam Lin is so nice and pure, when he had really killed 20 children while defending his country. It is also ironic that everyone treats Matt as an object, when really they are all objects to El Patron. Finally, it is ironic that Mr. Ortega(Matt's Music Teacher) is deaf.
The House of the Scorpion was created in 2002.
The type of irony used in "The Still Alarm" is situational irony, where the fire chief's house catches fire despite his profession. This adds humor by creating a contrast between the chief's expertise in dealing with fires and his inability to prevent his own house from burning down. The unexpected twist in the plot highlights the humorous irony of the situation.

I had this question for homework, and I honestly was frustrated. There were not many examples of irony in this story. One that I happened to think of was...when El Patron was about to have a transplant and Celia said she had poisoned Matt(slightly poisoned.)Another one is when Matt realized Felicia had been sabotaging him. And she framed him from killing Fur Ball. When in reality, it was her.Hope this helps!
