My husband thinks it's Cold Play's "Speed of Sound" but I don't think they gave the rights, nor do I think he is correct. But it does sound similar.

I think I found the melody. In the movie "White Christmas", Crosby is at the piano when Clooney comes in for a last snack. Listen carefully the notes he is playing are the 9 notes for the words "American Family Insurance". However, this melody was not part of the story line and was never identified. Someone who's into trivia should be able to identify the melody that Crosby was playing.
