A Christmas Carol is about the mean and miserly Ebenezer Scrooge. He is visited on Christmas Eve by the ghost of his deceased business partner who tell him before the night is over he will be visited by 3 ghosts, the ghost of Christmases past, present and future.

They each appear in turn, the ghost of Christmas past revisits his neglected childhood with him, the ghost of Christmas present shows him how everyone else in his life is making the most of the holiday even if times are hard, and the ghost of Christmas future shows him what the future holds for him if he doesn't make a change.

On Christmas morning he awakens and decides to heed the warning and change his ways.

A Christmas Carol is a story by Charles Dickens. It's about a greedy old man named Ebeneezer Scrooge who is cruel to his family and employee. On Christmas Eve the ghost of his dead partner, Jacob Marley, visits him. Marley warns him that unless Scrooge changes his attitude and becomes a kinder person he will spend the afterlife being punished for all his wrongdoings. Marley tells Scrooge he will be visited by three spirits: The Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future. Scrooge doesn't believe him and thinks the whole thing is a hallucination he is having from eating some bad food.

Scrooge goes to sleep but wakes up later in the night by the Ghost of Christmas past who shows him how Scrooge used to be, a kind boy who cared about life until he grew up and started becoming obsessed with his job and money. He cared for material things instead of actual people. This caused his fiancee to leave him.

Scrooge is taken back to his home where he is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present who shows him how people will be celebrating Christmas this year. He sees his nephew Fred enjoying a wonderful party (a party Scrooge was invited too but declined to attend) and enjoying the company of his friends and family. The Ghost also shows him how his employee Bob Cratchett is spending Christmas. Bob works for Scrooge and is overworked and underpaid. Bob's youngest song is a sickly little boy named Tiny Tim. Tim is very kind and cares about other people. The Ghost tells Scrooge that unless something is done, Tim will die.

Finally Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present. He shows Scrooge how people would react to his death. In the future, when Scrooge dies, nobody cares about him. Instead, everyone is fighting over all his old belongings. The ghost also shows Scrooge that, in the future, Tiny Tim is dead and everyone is very sad because Tiny Tim was such a kind and loving boy. Scrooge promises that he will change his ways and keep the spirit of Christmas in his heart all year long.

In the morning Scrooge wakes up and realizes that today is Christmas Day and he hasn't lost his chance to do things better. He buys a goose from the butcher and takes it to his employee, Bob Cratchett's house. At Cratchett's house he tells him that he will be giving Bob a promotion. Scrooge doubles his salary and makes Bob partner.

In the evening Scrooge visits his nephew Fred at the Christmas party Fred is hosting and apologizes for his bad behavior. Scrooge stays true to his word and becomes a kind and generous man. He sends Tiny Tim to the best doctors so he won't die.
