Amy Lee from Evanescence had a sister called Bonnie, who died in 1987 at the age of three from an unidentified illness. Amy was six years old when her sister died and the song 'Hello' was apparently written for Bonnie.

The first two lines of the song are about how she was at school when it happened and i think the words that follow on from there are about how she doesn't want to believe that it's real, it's like a dream and she'll wake soon. She fakes a smile to hide her true feelings and that she never really understood what was happening because of how old she was when she died.

Hope this helps.

This song is about how children see death. Amy Lee wrote it because when she was a child her sister died and Amy was told at school.

The line "playground school bell, rings again" refers to her finding out at school.

Amy Lee wrote it because of her 3 year old sister dying... The song means "All the things my little sister would miss"....
