Bearing and Linkage oil is used for the metal rods that make the valves move.
Many horns used strings for this function and don't have any real bearings/linkages. They're on the outside of the horn, so it's easy to tell if you've got them or not.
If you have bearings/linkages and don't know how to oil them, there's some wonderful YouTube videos that can help you out!! I know I needed them when I was first looking up how to oil my horn with the different oils.
I happen to have a horn that uses strings, but I still use bearing/linkage oil for the springs that make the valves spring back after they're pushed down. I'm not sure this is a good idea since I've noticed my springs beginning to tarnish after doing this, but it definitely makes the valves feel smoother.
