Christian you can tell from his lyrics.

"The other day I saw this car with a 'Support Our Troops' bumper sticker, and next to it was one about Jesus," Johnson says while rubbing his hands. "I thought to myself, 'What would Jesus think about a sticker with his name on it right next to one that says, 'Support Our Troops'? There's nothing wrong with supporting our troops, by the way, but when it becomes synonymous with supporting this war," he says before changing his thought. "It would be interesting if Jesus could tell us what he really thinks."

From this statement, I would assume that Jack Johnson does believe that Jesus existed and does believe that he was a great person that did not believe in violence and war. There are so many songs that talk about God and Jesus in them. It may be hard to notice for people that do not read/understand The Bible. Also, he sings of many "truths" that the Bible teaches. The last thing I will note is that he sings in parables, as Jesus taught in. He even mentions that he sings in parables in one of his songs.

First of all many people say that because he's so caring and kind with his words he "must be a christian", well I disagree. You don't have to be a christian to be a kind person. I personally think that he either doesn't have a religion or he is agnostic. I especially think that because in his song "No other way" and "Never know" he makes a lot of hints leading me to believe he's agnostic. He says things like "we're clever but we're clueless, we're just human". He's always talking about how none of us have the answers and stuff. That's just what I get from it. If he is religious, he's definitely not one of those religious nuts, he's a peaceful guy that if he believed in god he believed god was peaceful too. He's anti-war and pro helping the environment.
