it depends is it an American standard Strat or a Mexican Strat i payed around 600.00 for my 1995 Cherry Red Fender Mex-Strat 2 years ago so American standard around 800.00 to 900.00 Mex 400.00 to 600.00

Hope this Helps

Jesse Craig

I just paid $1100 for a 1995 Limited Edition Fender American Stratocaster standard in Lake Placid Blue with a matching headstock. The guitar was purchased by a collector and was never played they only made them for a short time in 95 so the condition has a big factor on what a guitar is worth. If it was used worth around $800-$1000 Did not mind paying $1100 for a 16 year old guitar never played!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen 1989 Strats that were Made in the USA go as low as $250.00 on eBay, but seem to average at $400-$600. I've also seen people trying to sell them for as high as $1000 on Craigslist.

It really boils down to how much a particular person wants it at that particular price. Without hearing it first, aka buying it online, I'd might pay $500-$600 for a white-lefty that's set up to play right handed and had faded to a light yellow over the years. But I wouldn't pay $200 for a red and white one. It's all subjective to the person looking that particular day.

The Made in Japan one's usually go for $300 to $600 on eBay depending on color and tuner locks.

What guitar did chris Hayes play?

I have researched this information carefully, as I am building replicas of all of his instruments. Chris Hayes used a 1956 Les Paul Goldtop on the debut album of Huey Lewis and the News. On the cover of that album, he is holding a 1978 Hamer Sunburst, which was also seen in the music video for "Some Of My Lies Are True". He also used a 1957 Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty" which can be seen in various photographs and music videos, such as "Heart and Soul". Around this time, he also owned a 1957 Gibson Les Paul TV Special and also a black Fender Stratocaster that had been fitted with a Kahler tremolo. It is possible that this instrument was used to record "Who Cares". From around 1982, Chris was playing a red Gibson Spirit I with a Kahler Flying Tremolo, which can be seen in several live videos. On the album Sports, Chris may have used a 1972 Fender Telecaster Deluxe when recording the song "Honky Tonk Blues". This guitar was later sold at a charity auction. It had a DiMarzio MegaDrive pickup in the bridge position. While touring, Chris used a bright neon orange Stratocaster copy that I have not yet identified. It had either EMG or Bartolini pickups and a Kahler tremolo. In 1987, Chris Hayes played a blue Gibson Spirit XPL prototype with a Gibson/Kahler tremolo. This guitar can be seen in the 1987 video All The Way - Live, in addition to a blue Stratocaster copy with a white burst paintjob and a single humbucker pickup in the bridge position. It also had a Kahler tremolo. In the music video for "Perfect World" Chris was seen with a 1963 classic white Gibson Firebird. From 1991 to 2001, Chris was usually seen playing a Fender Stratocaster, with either EMG or Bartolini single-coil pickups. Chris Hayes has continued to play Stratocaster-type guitars since leaving Huey Lewis and the News in 2001.

What was the last factory name Leo fender went onto after fender?

In the 1950s, Leo Fender contracted a strep[disambiguation needed] infection that impaired his health to the point where he decided to wind up his business affairs, selling the Fender company to CBS in 1965. As part of this deal, Leo Fender signed a non-compete clause and remained a consultant with Fender for a while. Shortly after selling the company, he changed doctors and was cured of his illness. In 1971 Forrest White and Tom Walker formed the Tri-Sonix company (often incorrectly referred to as "Tri-Sonic"), based in Santa Ana, California. Tommy Walker and Forrest White went to Leo to help finance their company. It evolved into the formation through Tommy Walker to form Music Man, a name Leo Fender preferred over their name, Tri-Sonix. After considerable financing, in 1975, Leo Fender became its president. The StingRay bass was an innovative early instrument. Though the body design borrowed heavily from the Precision Bass, the StingRay is largely considered the first production bass with active electronics. The StingRay's two-band active equalizer, high output humbucking pickup, and smooth satin finished neck became a favorite of many influential bassists, including Louis Johnson, John Deacon, and Flea. Later, a three-band active equalizer was introduced on the StingRay. Music Man was active making amplifiers as well, but the HD-130 Reverb, designed to compete with the Twin Reverb, came at a time when the clean sounds of the Twin were going out of fashion. In 1979, Leo Fender and old friends George Fullerton and Dale Hyatt started a new company called G&L (George & Leo)[5] Musical Products. G&L guitar designs tended to lean heavily upon the looks of Fender's original guitars such as the Stratocaster and Telecaster, but incorporated innovations such as enhanced tremolo systems and electronics. In 1979, Fender's wife Esther died of cancer. He remarried in 1980; Phyllis Fender is an Honorary Chairman of G&L. Despite suffering several minor strokes, Fender continued to produce guitars and basses. On March 21, 1991, he died, having long suffered from Parkinson's disease. He was buried at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, California. His accomplishments for "contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field" were acknowledged with a Technical Grammy Award in 2009.
