Minimalist music is an originally American genre of experimental or Downtown music based mostly on consonant harmony, steady pulse or drones, stasis and slow transformation, and often reiteration of musical phrases or smaller units such as figures, motifs, and cells. It is simple, catchy music that uses sustained chords and few musical phrases repeated in different ways.

Minimal house music developed from minimal techno and glitch from the early 90's and house from the mid 80's. It is a mixture of the funky and groovy elements of house music with the repetitive sound that you get in techno.

I don't know sorry. What is minimalism? Is it being small or something. Sorry if this wasn't a help.
The style most associate with Philip Glass is minimalism. He is considered to be one of the big names in the school of minimalism, alongside Terry Riley, Steve Reich and others. He has not, however, confined himself to the style, and has worked in Indian music alongside Ravi Shankar and has worked in the film music industry. To get an idea of his style, I recommend listening to Glassworks, Akhnaten or Koyaanisquatsi. Any of his symphonic or concerto works are also excellent.
