To take a general idea of all the songs, its about Pink Floyd (the character from the Wall the Movie) building this wall to shelter himself from the cruelty of his life. The bricks of these walls are formed by his own misfortunes. Roger Waters writes in the wall about his father dieing in the second world war, about his over bearing mother, his school teachers, and other figures in his life that build this imaginary wall in his mind. Eventually as we see in the movie, Pink Floyd slips into this delusion where he is on trial for a crime, and all of the people who helped build the wall are their to testify against him. Pink Floyd the character as well as the movie, provided a narration to the album, explaining many of the emotions Roger Waters was trying to convey through a character.
